"We start off with a lie on Valentine's Day. My blind date isn't the studious guy I expected: he's a drop-dead gorgeous player with sinful amber eyes. Somehow we end up at his penthouse. I blame the gin and tonic. The next day I learn he's Jack Hawke--bad-boy professional quarterback with a murky past. The NDA he has me sign should be a warning that he isn't a regular person. Please. I sign it Juliet Capulet, so goodbye, famous football player with abs of steel, and good luck tracking down this small-town librarian. But Jack keeps showing up in places I least expect him. Just when I'm sure he's gone, he waltzes into my community theater and wins the part of Romeo to my Juliet. How's a plain, mostly innocent girl like me supposed to resist a man like him? Is Jack my real Romeo...or will this gorgeous football player only break my heart?" - Provided by publisher… (more)

I loved this book and everything about it. It starts off with Elena going on a blind date her best friend Topher set up for her, she honestly doesn’t want to go but hey she is horny so why not? She spots the guy that is supposed to be her blind date and sits down with him and starts to babble without giving him a chance at an introduction, so needless to say this guy ends up not being her guy. I was laughing the whole time she was babbling away to poor Jack who had no clue who this chick was and was wondering if she was press or just plain crazy. Jack is a famous football quarterback with a not so good reputation and social anxiety like no other. I loved him immediately because he was not a bad guy he was constantly misunderstood, and no one wanted his side of things because he kept his life very personal. Jack had a rough childhood and then later was burned by his ex-Sophia who wrote a tell all novel that was all lies, so his trust does not come easy if at all. Then Elena is still upset with Jack for not telling her the truth to who he was but the more time they spend together the more their attraction becomes evident and they can’t stay away from each other. Elena finds herself falling hard for Jack and she knows if he won’t let her in will this thing between them last or will Jack’s insecurities and trust issues end things before, they even get started? A fantastic read and I hope we get more. ( )

A solid mistaken identity, sports, fun, quirky romance. Trust issues, baggage from the past, and an attraction between the two main characters made for a good solid story along with their friends and family for comedy relief. ( )

I’d actually rate this more at a 3.5 star. Almost 4 stars. It was pretty good, but the ending fell apart just a little bit for me.

In the story we meet Elena as she’s waiting on a blind date on Valentine’s Day. She is a small town girl that works in the library. And she ends up mistakenly having a blind date was a superstar football player who has been having some recent imaging issues with image. She’s been hurt in the past, and so has he. So they both have some trust issues. But his are very deep-seated and cause a lot of problems for the two of them. This is the story of her Elena trying to get Jack to trust her with his heart. It’s a hard road, even when fate keeps pushing them together.

I really enjoyed this book and watching the two fall in love. But the end was kind of a magical solution to the problem and came a little bit too late in my opinion. But the book was still good. I enjoyed all of the side characters, especially his teammates. And I can’t wait for their books to come. ( )
