No current Talk conversations about this book. 1729 North America: From Earliest Discovery to First Settlements The Norse Voyages to 1612, by David B. Quinn (read 14 Jul 1982) This covers some of the same things covered by Samuel Eliot Morison's volume which I read in April, and so I did not find everything in the book real interesting. But the book is a scholar's delight--it shows Quinn has done a lot of good research in these very interesting areas. The book covered everything occurring in what is now the U.S. and Canada up to 1612. This is the first volume of what is called The New American Nation Series, and is the fourth volume in that series I have read. ( ) no reviews | add a review
