Description
"Four different children from three different families ponder what the adults in their lives do during the day. Are they jumping on trampolines? Are they eating cake and ice cream while riding birthday ponies? Are they eating candy with other adults?"--Tags

This is a silly book that asks parents if they're eating candy without their kiddos. It's been funny at storytime. It hasn't been as big of a hit as others, but the silly candy parts are very enjoyed. I've read this one at 3 storytimes, with a 4th coming up and I usually change some of the pronouns to fit the group more.
Instead of focusing on the grown-ups with "Are you..." I change it to "Are they..." and to the kids, mention their grown-ups ahead of that shift, since I'm reading to the kids specifically. It has worked better like this for our group in terms of flow and engagement.

We always have so much fun with you, the children say; but what do you do all day long when we are not at home?
Do you follow all the rules? Do you give advice or tell other people what to do?
Or do you go to fancy parties? Do you climb trees? Do you dress up in costumes to pretend that you’re in a play? Maybe you jump on trampolines. But . . .
ARE YOU EATING CANDY WITHOUT ME?!?!?
=========
Both young readers and adults will find this laugh-out-loud story tickles their funny bones even as it addresses a question young children might have asked. Preschool and kindergarten children, ages three through six, are the targeted audience for this delightful book.
Zany, colorful illustrations, a whimsical tale, and a sweet ending all work together show more to make this a story young readers are sure to ask to hear again and again. The large print encourages young readers to follow along and read together with the adult.

A little disappointing, although the illustrations were bright and fun.
Read this with the Littles at the library and it didn't really keep their attention. The idea that parents are eating candy without their kid is great fun, but that idea wasn't played enough. Most of the book was an introduction to the families and then questions about how the parents behavior might be the same at work similar as to that at home.
Meanwhile, we (the Littles and me, the Granny) wanted to know about....the candy!

Children's story about when the kids are together, away from their parents they wonder what they are doing without them there.
So funny and no we aren't eating candy, too many chores to do, LOL
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Vivid art, fun cadence, and a relatable premise.
