Big bucks and murder sometimes go hand-in-hand. Mirabeau, Texas is a
dynamite little town -- especially when toolsheds, doghouses, and mailboxes
mysteriously begin to explode. So far, the only person physically hurt by
any of this is Jordy Poteet, struck by a chunk of shrapnel from his
girlfriend's mailbox. But Jordy is in for an even bigger jolt when his
ex-girlfriend, Lorna, arrives from Boston. She's come to scoop up
everybody's riverfront property -- and if possible, Jordy as well. With
pro-development folk and die-hard environmentalists all foaming at the
mouth, tempers become downright murderous. And the unfortunate victim is
Lorna's handsome colleague, garroted with a piece of barbed wire at the
Mirabeau B&B. It's up to Jordy to show more figure out if Lorna is on the up and up
and to try to keep the peace with his current love, Candace, while he helps
his old friend Police Cheif Junebug Moncreif track down the killer.

This book was truly predictable from beginning to end. The murderer was
easy to spot from the get-go. the whole plot was just tired. I'd already
ordered this one from Booksfree, but I'm going to take the rest of this
series off my list. I'm just not in the mood for this. I finished it, so
it gets a 1. Don't waste your time on these unless you have nothing else to
read but the back of the cereal box.

I quite life this series - quite a cozy series really. Set in a small Texan town the characters are great and its got a good sense of humour with it. Jordy Poteet is really likeable.
