I have visited many of the national parks described in this large and colorful book. There have been many recent additions to the National Park System. Some of these are located in the east of the USA and many more are formerly National Monuments that have been upgraded to park status. The book describes all in abbreviated detail, but includes glowing text about the scenic, historic and cultural highlights of each. I learned that I missed a lot of the beauty of areas of the parks. The book is an inspiration to revisit many of these parks.
