Destiny Donne is a large-animal veterinarian in rural Florida. She meets a handsome but smarmy skydive instructor, takes up skydiving, and falls in love with him. He turns out to be married to a wealthy woman and attempts to sucker Destiny in to doing something about that. There are long periods in the story where Destiny is stupider and needier than anyone should be.
