On Halloween, five monsters fix a stew to eat. Each monster brings something to put in the stew- a bat, frog, etc. One monster does not bring anything, but he accidentally spills the stew everywhere, and the animals inside the stew ran away. Another monster comes to the door and brings a bunch of candy. The feast on the candy, instead.
This is a cute Halloween story. I found this laying around my house in the basement and read it to the children for my service learning project, even though it is nowhere near Halloween! They enjoyed it, though.
This book could be read to my classroom of students when we are celebrating Halloween at school! We could extend the project into researching why Halloween came to be a tradition of show more trick-or-treating. Also, this could be a counting lesson for younger kids. It counts to 6 slowly throughout the book as the monsters slowly arrive at the door. show less
Monsters gather on Halloween to make a stew. Sadly their ingredients run away. They are sad until a friend appears with a new treat.
