I love it when a book also works to help a child work through an illness or difficult situation. Maccarone’s book does just that. Children often catch chicken pox during an age when they really don’t understand what is happening. On top of that, we tell them not to scratch them—I remember that part. It was the worst!
The pictures are a great addition to this book. The illustrations of a child with chicken pox will be just the thing a child suffering from the issue needs to help them work through the difficult time.
This will be a great tool for teachers in the younger grades to keep on hand and use when the students in their classroom or their friends contract chicken pox.

This book is about a boy who has the chicken pox and tries not to itch and at the end he gets better.
This is a good book for early readers to start learning to read. The "Hello Reader" books are really good beginner books in my opinion because they give tips to parents/teachers to help children learn to read.
Preschool-1st grade.

Hopefully I never have to deal with this issue in my classroom because that would NOT be fun! But this is a cute rhyming book!
Itchy, Itchy, Chicken Pox is a cute book about chicken pox. The book is a funny book that goes through the phases of chicken box. It talks about the red dots and how they are really itchy. Kids love this book and its a really good book for them to read. This book is a 1st grade level and an easy read for beginner readers. I would not read this book aloud but i would have this book in my class library so that my students could read this book.
this is a great book about a boy going through chicken pox. I used for the determining the importance. the boy is so itchy but he can't itch, what can he take to make him feel better is what the book covers.
This is a great book to learn more about chicken pox. Its also a great book for children who are learning to read.
