Villagers have been terrorized by Tiger, and have trapped him in a cage. Along came a Wise Man, who foolishly let the Tiger out, who in turn, captured him for dinner. The Wise Man pleaded with Tiger to consult with other animals to let him stay alive, but all the other animals consented to Tiger eating the Wise Man. Right when Tiger was about in indulge in his meal, a jackal came along and flattered Tiger, to the point where he hopped back into his cage to show off to the clever Jackal. Foolish Tiger had trapped himself, and Jackal went off to enjoy her new-found meal, the Wise Man! This would be a good example of a folktale to teach students that are in the 2nd-4th grades.
