Love this series so far however i felt like this book was just too similar to the last two plot wise. Oversall a good book. Hoping the next one is a tad different. ( )

From the very first book about an Avery brother, I found myself caught up in the story of this family. I love how they all come together when one of their own finds themselves in trouble. With incredible faith and strength of character, this family’s stories deserve to be read, and this book provides danger, courage, and some unexpected twists.

Dr. Shelby Warren serves as a psychologist focusing on military service members, while Paul Avery finds himself one of her patients and ultimately her protector. I absolutely could not put this book down. The storyline and characters were well-developed and kept my attention. Dealing with PTSD and its effects, along with the bonds of a family grabbed my attention. I love how the Avery family supports each other and those around them. Being a family with military members, an FBI operative, a sheriff, and more, I love reading these books. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. So check it out for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )

Do you have an author who never fails to live up to your expectations? Virginia Vaughan writes the stories that I look forward to reading and this new book is no different. From the moment that psychologist Shelby Warren labels her patient a 'typical adrenaline junkie', I believed that her strong reaction to Paul Avery would prove to be life-changing. Was I ever right! Paul soon jumps into rescue mode when he saves Shelby from a sniper's bullets, and they are both thrust into an adventure filled with twists, turns, and many unanswered questions.

'Tears slid down her face because she knew the truth. She owed this man her life. So many times over. But she could never give him her heart.'

Texas Target Standoff has great characters, a fast-paced plot, and a romance that often appears doomed. Add danger, excitement, and a strong faith message to the mix and the result is a romantic suspense novel that I couldn't put down! This is the third book in the Cowboy Lawmen series and I look forward to the next book in the series.

I received a copy of this book from the author and Celebrate Lit. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my honest thoughts. ( )

What I have seen is that there is evil in the world, and someone needs to be there to intervene when necessary.

Dr. Shelby Warren is a psychologist who specializes in working with military clients, particularly with those suffering with PTSD. The study of PTSD has come a long way since my studies in college, but the suffering certainly hasn’t changed. Returning into service before they are ready can bring disastrous results to themselves and those around them. Needless to say, most want to get back in uniform as quickly as possible, including our SEAL, Paul Avery. However, when threats leave the doc wondering who wants her dead, he is no longer the patient but the protector.

The action never ends in this incredibly written story. Shots fired, a bomb threat, car crashes and more will keep you trying to figure this one out right up till the end. What has she done that has put her in the crosshairs? Perhaps the biggest question for both is whether or not they will trust the Lord enough to learn to smile again.

This ARC was received through Love Inspired Suspense and CelebrateLit. The comments and impressions are my own and were in no way solicited. ( )

I love the characters in this series. This was fast paced and had quite a few twists and turns. Both of the main characters learn to trust in God again after a bit of nudging. I enjoy this family and look forward to the next book in the series. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )
