Can it be possible that book #2 is even more riveting than the first? Yes. Not sure what it is, maybe the author's confidence is shining through, but special agent Nikki Hunt has more gumption, more pizzaz, and more grit in this sequel. One Perfect Grave (not sure of that title though if I'm being honest), is a great follow-up to the Nikki Hunt series.
While wrapping things up from her previous case in Stillwater (the one that came about to start the series), Nikki finds herself with romantic feelings over the brother of the man wrongly convicted of her parents' murders, as well as knee-deep in looking for the killer of a young mother and her son. If that isn't enough, a second young boy turns up missing and his mother is none other than show more reporter Caitlin Newport, Nikki's nemesis.
There is a lot of action in this one and you will not notice the time ticking as the pages seem to turn themselves. Well done, Stacy Green. I'm looking forward to reading book #3! Keep 'em coming. show less

I was eager to get hold of this book as book one in the Nikki Hunt series was so good, book two, One Perfect Grave did not disappoint me. It began with a car slides on black ice and ends up in a deep ditch the driver discovered a boy frozen in the ice. It is Kellan Rhodes who Nikki and other police were looking for as he went missing. What is even more shocking is that his mother is discovered dead next to him and the hunt for a missing child turns into a hunt to find a murderer.
This was absolutely gripping, the character-building Stacy Green does is amazing as I felt I knew a lot of the characters. I liked that we got to know Nikki more and how the people in the town are reacting to her since book one.
The investigation was very good, show more and it kept me guessing, there were certainly a few people I thought it could be and I was not even close!
I would love the series to be turned into films or even TV series, one book per season, I would definitely watch them! show less

When the remains of two bodies are found in an open grave along a desolate highway in Stillwater, Minnesota, Special Agent Nikki Hunt knows exactly who they are. The bright blue jacket lying on the frozen earth belongs to Kellan Rhodes, the missing boy she’s desperately been trying to find for the last two days. The other body is his mother Dana, who had been Nikki’s lead suspect.
Although the wounds on Dana’s body suggest she murdered her son and took her own life, Nikki finds evidence that suggests she was a victim too. Dana was desperately trying to regain custody of Kellan, and Nikki finds boot prints at the scene that belong to someone else.
When another child is reported missing, local journalist Caitlin Newport claims the show more cases are linked: Zach Reeves was taken away from his own mother in a custody battle, just like Kellan was.
Now, Nikki must decide if she can trust Caitlin again, before time runs out to find the killer and bring Zach home alive…
I loved the first book in this series and so when I saw this, I knew I had to read this!
The plot was so exciting and fast paced that I just couldn’t put it down. Nikki Hunt’s investigation along with all her team members is excellent and meticulous. The perpetrator is obviously a sick individual who targets little children, I did have doubts quite early into the book as to who it could possibly be. And I was glad to have guessed it right.
Agent Nikki Hunt’s work ethic, camaraderie with her colleagues as well as her ability to keep her emotions at check are some of the amazing qualities which definitely makes her one of my favorite FBI agents. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
Overall, an excellent fast paced, edge of the seat thriller! Highly Recommended!

The second book in the Nikki Hunt series did not disappoint! Not as many twists and turns as the first one but still, a great mystery. Can't wait for book 3 in August.
