In this installment of hot men in front of motorcycles, we get the story of Knives and Mary. Knives, like all the men in the Ruthless Kings MC, has a tragic backstory. This one deals with childhood bullying and brotherly love. Mary is trying to escape what happened to her in Atlantic City by hiding behind boldness and recklessness. Knives knows better and after some sexy time in a barn, the two are drawn together in a whirlwind of dredged-up pasts and surprises.

Here we have classic romance tropes and there's not a worry. The story progresses quickly and runs through its paces with little trouble.

I did like Knives a bit more than other members; he seems to be a bit more subtle on the rage. While the story showcases how far he'll go and focuses on how he loses his shit, he's still much more clear-headed in some respects than others.

I'd give this a 3/5 on the spice meter; the scenes are backseat-worthy but after 9 books it's getting repetitive. At least there are some interesting places they're having sex. I'm for sure going to continue reading the series no matter what because I really like the characters no matter what.

Recommended for 18 readers who aren't triggered by murder, bullying, death, or sex.
