"I need you," she whispered. "You have me," he said.

This was an excellent conclusion to the series. The senses were high with the war happening, and the devastation of Tartarus opened.

Persephone had to work through her emotions with the aftermath of Malice and the guilt of what she had done.

Hades protective as ever and tries everything in his power to keep his queen safe, but realises that they are a partnership and neither needs to be alone in this.

Hecate as vengeful as ever. She was a highlight in this novel.

Hermes, as usual, was the comic relief, and I love him to bits.

Theseus . . . This guy . . . He deserves everything he gets.

I enjoyed the story a lot. I felt a few things were a bit lacking, like battle scenes. I enjoyed the multiple POVs. They actually moved the story forward and not like in a Game of Gods where I felt it was unnecessary.

Spice level is a 3.

I feel sad that this feels so finite. Saying goodbye to Hades and Persophene's story, but all good things come to an end. I keep my fingers crossed that they will feature in the side stories if the author wills it. ( )

This series has always been one of my favourites. It feels as if I’ve been waiting years for this book and to know how this story would end. There were so many fantastic elements, but also a few that just didn’t work for me.
In particular, Hermes has always been a favourite character for me, but in this book he is relegated to a one dimensional, comedic relief, side character. The way he was written was very jarring and in many ways took me out of the story and made it hard to read.
Glad my favourite King and Queen of the Dead finally got their happy ending though.
Well done Scarlett. ( )
