Gabriel and Nora are a wonderful couple trying to make sense of life and love. Early family relationships gave them one way of looking at love and when they fell in love it was difficult for them to reconcile views. The supporting characters helping them find their way are so necessary as friends nd family help us see things we don't normally do. A great journey to a HEA.

I had not read the other books in this series prior to reading this book. However, that did not change my enjoyment of this story. I did not ever feel lost, in fact, it made me want to go back and read more about these characters that were introduced.

I started this book with the knowledge that it was book four because of the blurb. Something spoke to me. From the first pages, and then for a large part of the story, I was caught up in the setting of this story. Having been to Alaska, and having fallen in love with it, I felt myself feeling a little nostalgic about the state. The author did a great job making me feel how amazing the state is, as well as how unlike it is compared to states down here in the lower 48.

For the most part, I liked Nora and Gabriel. I could understand where both of the characters were coming from. For Nora, it was the fear of having her heart broken again and for Gabriel, it was feeling like he would not have the right to be with his best friend's sister. I did struggle at times with both of these characters for their communication skills and stubbornness. However, there wouldn't be much for the book if they didn't have something to overcome. ( )
