During World War II, a German U-Boat and a merchant ship, are both sunk. A small group of survivors from the merchant ship attempt to survive on a small lifeboat, after they take a German survivor from the U-Boat on board. Highly recommend.

Jan. 28 1944 was the premiere of Lifeboat.
Hitchcock's survival film set in a lifeboat was the first of his "limited settings" movies. Great cinematography and another grand performance by Tallulah Bankhead; unique story by John Steinbeck. Hitch got a best director nomination.
