I read about half the book. That said, I think it's an extremely well done autobiography -- it gets the 11-12 year old perspective on war across very very well -- both the terror and the boredom and the difficulty understanding what is happening in a larger context. Heartbreaking, and I'm so glad that Kenan survived to tell his story and has taken the time and care to share it with the world. ( )
