This is an excellent compendium of theology. A well written digest of Reformed theology with just enough scholasticism to challenge the veteran theologian! If I were teaching an introductory course I would use this work. A. A. Hodge was a scientific theologian with an exceptional ability to popularize technical theology. The chapter on theological prolegomena is my favorite, you can tell that he was well versed in methodology the hallmark of an academic teacher. He knew how to draw from the other theological disciplines in his exposition of doctrine.
