Kit is enjoying visiting her Aunt Millie in Kentucky's mountains, but things are not going as she hopes. Her attempts to help the people there meet with failure as she learns that she is hurting people's pride, and someone seems to be purposely sabotaging things that she tries to help with. Finally she learns how to reach out to those who didn't trust her for being an outsider, and how to help people without asking them to give up their pride. ( )
