Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio, who was born in Nice, France on April 13, 1940, is usually identified as J. M. G. Le Clézio. After studying at the University of Bristol in England from 1958 to 1959, he finished his undergraduate degree at Institut d'etudes Litteraires in Nice.
