By this time in the Guardians of the Flame series, focusing on the adventurers from Earth or their children, but instead writes about 3 of the slaves that they have freed that have now turned into adventurers on their own, determined to end tyranny and defend the kingdom. Yes, its not exactly.... but it is. Its still good adventure, especially for those fans of this series. The characters are a little too familiar with each other, and at times I got a little lost where it seemed I was expected to know what they were thinking, without being told. You just had to be there, I guess.
Liked enough to finish, not enough to continue series.
An ok book. Lacks depth into exactly what this universe is. Three soldiers who are closely linked to the last Emperor battle across a kingdom to escort a young lady to the dowager princess.
Book 8 of the Guardians of the Flame series, it introduces 3 new characters, but takes a while to get going.
