5 STARS. YES I SAID IT. Now, when i heard everyone didn’t enjoy Josh and this book in general, i was pretty scared to read this. I got Twisted Games and this one at the same time, and i took a break from reading games so I read this. Which was a MISTAKE cuz i just could NOT put this down 😭😭
I finished this book in one go, and i don’t regret it one bit. This made me go through all the feels. I LOVED jules character in twisted love so i was super excited to read this and i’m always a sucker for an enemies to lovers story. Honestly, i would recommend this to anyone who loves the same tropes as me. So if this is perfect to my standards, what are people’s problems with this? 🤔
Weelll to address the elephant show more in the room, I have to understand that both Jules and Josh did some immoral stuff. Most people’s issue with this book is just Josh ☠️ I try to understand where they’re coming from, but if you have a problem with Josh in Twisted Hate, how could you like Alex in twisted love??? Josh and Jules both wronged each other while Alex hurt two people and Ava didn’t do anything to hurt him directly?? 😭 MAKE IT MAKE SENSE?? But on a more serious note, I’m not condoning what Josh did. He was pretty much blinded by betrayal and in any rivals/enemies to lovers, it’s hard to differentiate love and hate because they’re both passionate feelings.
Hear me out on this, but Josh is a pretty passionate person, and by his own standards, it hurt to be kept in the dark by Jules. Even though I do think he was being overdramatic, we as readers need to understand that characters have to be a lil unlikable to be like likeable (think of how someone can’t be happy without facing any moments of nothing. you cannot have something without not having it before). And I actually think that this conflict was resolved extremely well, it was neatly settled and Josh redeemed himself. Compared to Twisted Love (which i was thoroughly disappointed with), Twisted Hate was like a breath of fresh air. 5/5 stars josh and jules u will always be my favs show less

Introduction
Twisted Hate is the 3rd installment in the "Twisted" series and I have to say I had such nerves about reading this one. I knew that this would be a very angsty enemies to lovers type of read. So I have had it on my shelf for literally an year haha but ironically I decided to pick up the audiobook for this one but I can safely say that this book was lively and entertaining and so wonderful. I never know what to expect about an enemies to lovers, but it delivered all the way for me. While its not a perfect story, it was a wonderful experience and is deserving of its high rating, at least for me. I do think this author is worth the hype, she writes such show more entertaining books that just feeds the heart.
Summary
Jule Ambrose and Josh Chen have been at odds with each other for years. And from their first moments they hated each other when Jules overheard Josh not approving of Jules as a friend for his sister. But when Jules and Josh are in a forced proximity situation, their hate for each other slowly starts to turn to respect for each other and the chemistry between them sizzles and when they mutually decide to use each other for sex, well neither complain on that matter. But their hate like fling, turns into something deeper, and sweet endearing affection forms slowly between them. But Jules has a life of secrets and when her past comes back, her decisions may keep her from the man she could see herself sharing her life with...and their love will be tested in ways that neither of them expect.
My Outlook
I absolutely adored Twisted Hate. It actually surprised me how much I loved it. I am not sure why I am so shocked, because this is a hyped author, that works for me, and no one is more shocked than I am haha because y'all know how hyped books actually work out for me and normally its not very well. Enemies to Lovers I know is probably a trope you all love, but as a reader that doesn't love it too much, this one ended up working out just right. And I do want to give much of the credit to the narrators, who were brilliant in this book and really made this book come alive for me. The bantering and jabs that these two make against each other was just right and the steam in this book is explosive. Be careful you don't get burned, because this might be the most spiciest book that I have read from this author.
Overall View
Twisted Hate is a powerfully evoking romance that lifted my heart in the most unexpected times. Its a story of the thin line between love and hate and the endearing chemistry that can connect a couple in unexpected ways.

the plot is so flimsy and both Jules and Josh need therapy more than a relationship wtf! And the hate sex that everyone was raving about seemed more dangerous than steamy to me. He came off as a woman-hater throughout those scenes - why was he so rough and there was so less aftercare is beyond me. HE WAS LITERALLY CHOKING HER TO DEATH! that was NOT HOT! Isn't he a doctor, he should know better - there is a WAY to do this. It was giving WALMART BDSM.
And her just accepting the bare minimum, LIKE GIRL??? Finally, chapter 46 was AWFUL and proved to me was sort of a terrible man Josh Chen is. The whole twisted universe seemed like it was just characters that tried to act like their professional growth was their biggest win, but all of them show more had their mediocre tunnel-ish relationships and needed some therapy and healing. show less

Twisted Hate by Ana Huang
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Read: March 2023
This was not my favourite of the series, but I still enjoyed it. I really liked Jules, but I found Josh to be a bit annoying, and I didn’t like how Josh reacted when he found out how Jules deceived him. All those sweet movement in Vermont, at the funeral, and in the bookstore all came crashing down. I understand his hurt, but after everything she had told him, what he did to her was malicious. It was hard to root for them after that.
I will say, I really enjoyed Alex’s character development in this one and getting to hear how he and Ava were doing.

DNF @ page 204. My third book, dnfing for the year.
I think I am quitting this series. . .
The plot disappeared through the cracks of hate sex.
The bickering is repetitive and I do not care for these characters. I stomached the first book and the second one - so it feels as if the books got thicker and thicker with the plot being lost through the sex and boring parts that made me want to throw the book from the roof.
Spice - 2.5/5.
So, in addition, these books have to become shorter due to plot loss in the 400 pages.
I am done with the twisted series.

BEST FUCKING BOOK OF THE TWISTED SERIES EVERRRR.
I'm so happy I finally decided to read this book, cuz at first I hated it, I didn't want to read it cuz I thought it'd be boring, but then I decided it was about damn time I read it because I didn't like the fact that it was the only twisted series I skipped and also because of booktok(so thanks booktok) and I don't regret it one bit. It's so fucking goodddddd. The sex scenes where amazing and Josh is just lovable as he says. But either the book was amazing and I don't regret reading, I only regret not reading it sooner.
