Description

Fiction. Literature. Romance. Five years ago, Kat Harper fell into a dizzying summer romance with her brother's best friend, Bryan. It was a mad, crazy love full of kisses all through the night, but he broke her heart and she had to move on. Five years later, Kat is finishing her graduate degree and building her business as a jewelry designer, when Bryan, head of his own successful company, walks back into her life. Bryan has been assigned to Kat as her new business mentor and the rules are show more clear. No hanky-panky permitted. Kat can handle that because she's totally over him . . . right? Except, he still makes her laugh, and he remembers all the things she likes. Not to mention that he's even more handsome now than he was then. Then there's the spark between them-the simply undeniable chemistry and the tender ways he shows he still cares for her. Can they resist each other the second time around or will first love trump all? show less

Mmmm, finished it but didn't know what to think of it at times.

Not often the main character is so flawed in such a catastrophically unromantic way! I'm exaggerating of course, but the fact that Bryan dumped Kat so unceremoniously after their summer romance - it made sense in some ways, at the time, and as he explained years later.

But the effect on her was an insecurity and loss that detracted from her life for many years. He should have been more upfront with her about his reasons - at least then she wouldn't have felt like a cast off.

But in a way, this angle was more real - people are not upfront. They make decisions for the other person without any idea they are doing it, or because it is easier than facing someone, or some other show more limp but usual reason.

I don't think it would have been just me; I'm sure other readers wondered if Bryan was going to turn out to be a fraud, even once they rediscovered each other.

A very quick and sweet romance. I liked the simplicity of it all. You don't have unnecessary drama or the like. Instead, you focus on the second chance romance and these characters reconnecting. They had great chemistry and banter so it just brought a smile to my face.
A truly heartwarming tale of love between two young people who are just starting out in the world. A decision made by Bryan causes he and Kat to lose five years. Can they find their way back to each other? This is the story of that journey. Highly recommended.
Story was OK, but let down with too much sex scenes.
