Readers must "read" the illustrations to trace all of the lost and found items throughout this book: not just the woman's dog, but the squirrel's acorn, the dog's stick, the woman's scarf, a child's teddy bear, a woman's pencil, and more. Some page spreads contain only fragments of sentences, but you'll want to spend plenty of time on each page to follow the story, which ends with a happy reunion.
