The Berenstain Bears: Bears on Time emphasizes the importance of being punctual. The entire Berenstain family is very busy. The kids have school, sports, and homework, and try to fit time for play. Mama and Papa have a list of things that keep them busy, such as their jobs, doctor visits, grocery shopping, and other chores, and they certainly want time to go bowling or to the beauty shop. But with such a full schedule, they find themselves being overwhelmed, delaying tasks and always running late.

Through their Bible reading time, Papa tells the story of Jonah and how putting things off wasn’t a good idea. He develops a “lateness plan” helping solve their tardy problem.

This cute story teaches an important message and employs a well-known Bible story to do so. With today’s families being so busy with school. Work, and other activities, it’s certainly a significant message.

As with all the Berenstain Bears books, the illustrations are fun, lively, and memorable, and the message is important and sweet.
