A book that is sure to get kids laughing! These elephants show many different opposites using somewhat crude illustrations, but very enjoyable! The concepts definitely come across and are exaggerated in this book, and is probably better for an older reader because of some of the topics.

Try not to laugh as page after page of opposites are presented by these goofy elephants. Most of the opposite pairs are more high concept than your typical opposites book, making it more appropriate as an enjoyment for older readers than a learning experience. And what an enjoyment it is! These (mostly) water colored elephants defy physics and sanity to show you the difference between things like Solid and Liquid, Inflated and Deflated, Fluffy and Spiky, and (my personal favorite), Smart and Stupid. One opposite that may upset the more conservative is that of Boy and Girl, which shows the elephants heeding the call of nature. A perfect book to get people talking, thinking, and laughing. ( )

Give this time to grow on you. Yes, it's a little raunchy at first glance--I was surpised this book had very plain, frank pictures. We stuck with it and by the time we read it the fifth time or more, we loved it. The kids absolutely love it. My first son memorized the entire book at age 2. Some words are simple, some are complicated. This is one of the top 10 children's books I've ever seen. ( )
