a few things in the early chapters got moved around in the anime in order to give the first season of the anime a satisfying ending, and i definitely like how things are lined up better in the light novel now that i've read it.
i was a bit surprised that the ending (which i knew was coming) didn't make me cry. the book made me cry several times, don't get me wrong. but the ending itself didn't. what a RUDE cliffhanger, though. i'm glad i already know what happens thanks to the anime.
of course, it's likely the early chapters of the next book are gonna make me cry a hell of a lot more than the ending of this one. as rude as that cliffhanger would've been if i didn't already know what happens, it's probably the emotional fallout that's show more really going to get me. show less
