"The Revelry" wasn't a bad little mystery but the ending was weak. The concept of the novel was intriguing and it started well. I was fascinated by the annual revelry and the mystery surrounding it, especially the disappearance of a young person every seven years, but the execution fell flat. I thought there was going to be a focus on strong female friendships but most of the book saw Bitsy and Amy's friendship unravelling and coming nasty. They would then make up until something else triggered their arguing and the nastiness would start again. Overall, a mediocre read. ( )

Nicely done blend of paranormal with a dash of mystery overlaid with the strain of a friendship tested by two girls who are forced to re-evaluate everything they thought they knew about each other. All done in a fast and quite satisfying read. ( )
