The concept of the novel was intriguing and it started well. I was fascinated by the annual revelry and the mystery surrounding it, especially the disappearance of a young person every seven years, but the execution fell flat. I thought there was going to be a focus on strong female friendships but most of the book saw Bitsy and Amy's friendship unravelling and coming nasty. They would then make up until something else triggered their arguing and the nastiness would start again. Overall, a mediocre read. ( ) no reviews | add a review
