It was never a dull moment, at least not for me. This was intense and really messed up. I definitely recommend it if you are a thriller fan. I want to say more, but I don't know how without spoilers... just read the book if you haven't yet. ( ) Andrew and Nina appear to have the perfect marriage, but all is not as it seems. Nina hires Millie to be a live-in maid, help take care of the house, cook and do some childcare. Millie soon finds out Nina is hard to please and sometimes mean to her. Andrew is very helpful and devastatingly handsome. Millie, despite herself is attracted to him. Nina's demands become greater, and she threatens Millie with letting her go. Nina needs this job and has not saved enough money to find her own place. Nina leaves one weekend to take her daughter to camp. The whole dynamics of the household change after that weekend. This is such a great thriller! no reviews | add a review

Every day I clean the Winchesters' beautiful house top to bottom. I collect their daughter from school. And I cook a delicious meal for the whole family before heading up to eat alone in my tiny room on the top floor. I try to ignore how Nina makes a mess just to watch me clean it up. How she tells strange lies about her own daughter. And how her husband Andrew seems more broken every day. But as I look into Andrew's handsome brown eyes, so full of pain, it's hard not to imagine what it would be like to live Nina's life. I only try on one of Nina's pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it's like. But soon she finds out - and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it's far too late. But I reassure myself that the Winchesters don't know who I really am. And they don't know what I'm capable of. No library descriptions found. |
