I’d never heard of the author before, but I have a weak spot for the new book section of the library (especially cookbooks) and as a mom of many I could relate to the title. However, though it was an entertaining read, I didn’t find the recipes particularly appealing. Many call for ingredients I don’t keep on hand; most have more heat than I can handle. Also, although she is a home cook, most of the recipes fall in the category of “home cooks recreating restaurant food.” I love good food and I enjoy exploring different cultures through food, but each meal does not need to be worthy of superlative adjectives to feed my people.
