MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

#iReadBookTours

Who really killed Jodi’s mom? Jodi took the blame, but was she covering up for someone? But who could it be?

I was so excited to read Lauren Carr’s second book in the Nikki Bryant Cozy Mystery Series, The Wrong Side of Murder. I couldn’t put this book down for long at a time because I had to find out who the murderer was. There are so many twists and turns in this cozy mystery, just when you think you have the murder solved, Ms. Carr throws another hatchet to the fire and its back to square one for me. But who could Jodi be covering for? And why? Pepper and Andera is the only two people who have stood by Jodi all these years, and now Nikki finds Andrea is living with Jodi, but why? It’s all in the mystery of who killed Jodi’s mom, and you need to read the book to find all the answers.

I love Lauren Carr’s books and The Wrong Side of Murder is one of my favorites. My emotions were all over the place reading this book. It was impossible to figure out who did what so you need to just keep reading. I’d you haven’t read a Lauren Carr book, this is an excellent one for you to start with. I’d you love a good cozy mystery, this is one you don’t want to miss! I highly recommend The Wrong Side of Murder for you to be your next read.

I am loving this cozy mystery series. Nikki and Ryan are a wonderful couple. Nikki is a great investigative journalist. This is a very witty story. This story has a lot of twists and turns. I loved that I could not figure out who killed who for most of the story. I love Elmo and the cats and their part of the mystery. I did not want to put the book down. I received a copy of this book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )

The Wrong Side of Murder is another cozy mystery featuring Nikki Bryant and she is delightful! She's smart and determined, with an amazing knack for solving mysteries. She also has a terrific boyfriend and a dog who's a media star. Some of the best moments occur when her boxer Elmo is a part of the action! Yes, murder can be serious but author Lauren Carr understands that we all need a little humor to lighten our moods!

Fantastic characters and a well-written, entertaining story that kept me turning the pages---this is the promise in choosing this author's mysteries. The Wrong Side of Murder has more than one murder and just when I thought I had one figured out, another clue would pop up and I was back where I started! Carr kept me guessing with multiple plot twists but she never failed to connect the dots and she definitely entertained.

Nikki and Ryan Spaulding are a perfect couple and I'm hoping that their romance will continue to progress. I recommend The Wrong Side of Murder to all who enjoy cozy mysteries and I look forward to more adventures in the Nikki Bryant Cozy Mystery series.

I received a copy of this book from the author via iRead Book Tours. There was no obligation for a positive review. ( )

Nikki had returned to her small town home in Pine Grove, PA, to run her family’s TV station, WKPG TV. She is an investigative journalist and loves the freedom she has to choose what the station runs.

Ryan is the head of the state crime lab, her high school boyfriend.

It has been twenty years since Jodi had been tried in the court of public opinion for her mother’s murder. She claimed she was innocent, but people couldn’t understand how she did not hear anything, seeing it was a very small house.

Nikki is determined to solve the mystery and find the killer. She can relate to Jodi, because her dad had been murdered and it wasn’t until decades later that the mystery was solved.

In cozies, it seems there is always a critter who has a large personality and The Wrong Side Of Murder is no exception, with Elmo having the privilege of filling that slot.

Smiles, romance, laughs and mystery. Bodies pile up and there are plenty of suspects to go around.

Lauren Carr is adept at creating mysteries with characters that can seem like your net door neighbors, critters and dialogue that keep me smiling through the crime solving.

For me, cozies are hard to rate and I find it the same for The Wrong Side Of Murder. A wonderful summer read, light on the suspense but fun to read.

You may want this in your beach bag.

Shortly after reading Killer Deadline, the first book in the Nikki Bryant Cozy Mystery series by Lauren Carr, I quickly turned to book 2: The Wrong Side of Murder. Because cozy mysteries aren’t what I usually read it was exciting to slip into another fun mystery.

Nikki is a keen, strong woman with lots of personality and Ryan is a great support for her. I like their unique relationship. You would think a murder mystery would be kind of dark and somewhat of a downer, but the author has managed to make it quite heartening. It’s unique in that Nikki is seeking to prove someone’s innocence rather than guilt as well as seeking out the guilty party.

I am so glad I sneak some new genres in now and then because reading these Nikki Bryant mysteries has been loads of fun. I loved the characters, was able to visualize the scenes with ease, enjoyed revisiting Pine Grove, and love that the mystery was far from predictable.

First Line (Prologue): How is it possible? How can he act like nothing is wrong when our world is falling apart?
Genre: Cozy Mystery
