by Ian D. Whyte, Kathleen Whyte

Description
Originally published in 1990 this book focusses on the main manoeuvres that took place in Scotland and England between 1688 and the Battle of Culloden in 1746. It provides a detailed chronological narrative of places, people and battles. Many of the sites associated with the Jacobites have not changed greatly in the last two centuries, and the book is extensively illustrated with photographs and specially drawn maps. The book examines objectively the often contradictory and imprecise show more accounts surviving from the time in order to discover the real events and significance of the Jacobite risings. show lessTags
