Cloned tripe - feels as if authors just recycled their other books into this one
Let me first off start by stating I love Charlie's Third series.
Shifter Scoundrels is the story of POTS and Mouse, well not really. It is supposed to be about Jason and Cormac. Jason has a medical condition called POTS and a dog named Mouse. If you remove them the book would loss about a third of its content. Book lacks any substance. There is no depth whatsoever.
Jason is in danger, and he goes to where he hopes to find help. Enter, Cormac. They set off on a short adventure and fall in love quickly.
If you have read any other books by these authors, you will notice that characters are cloned after others in different books they wrote. There are even the 80's references. I guess something original is too much to ask for.
The book is supposed to be a paranormal romance mystery. I feel like it is lacking on all of these. There is just too much focus on Jason's POTS and dog. It reads bump, bump, bumpbump, then dog on lap. You will read this over and over again. With all the focus on Jason's medical condition and the dog everything else is neglected.
I received an ARC to give my honest opinion. ( )
