A Witch’s Ever After 2
Love this author and loved this reimagining of a fairy tale that put a smile on my face today. I have always loved fairy tales and adult fairy tales by this author can’t be beat.
What I liked:
* Fiona Boaz – witch, magic olfactory sensor, botanist, scientist, works at Kriegspiel University, avoiding emotions she should deal with, outspoken, opinionates, avoids relationships, lusty, conflicted, attracted to Elias
* Dr. Elias “Beast” Van Doorn: scientist, demon hunter, priest, mechanical abilities, demon cursed beastly changes to his body, gruff, falls hard for Fiona almost immediately, wise, caring, knows what he wants
* The dynamics between the couple – verbal and physical
* That I could see the two of them together and well matched
* Remembering Ren and Erin and how they met and ended up parents to Fiona
* The plot, setting, character development, pacing, twist on Beauty and the Beast, and writing
* The automatons and how they were almost real
* The world building with various people, myths, magics, and culture
* That I felt part of the story
* The information about demons and how they played a part in this story
* How grief, loss, and healing were dealt with and the support that was given
* Hoping that there will be more books to look forward to
What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Having to say goodbye to this wonderful make-believe world till another book is ready to read
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Definitely
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
