A bit frothier than Burchell's operatic romances, but great fun. The whole village pitches in with help and advice for a young woman left in charge of a younger niece and a large house. But they seem to know everything she's going to do before she does herself, and they're even eager to plan her love life!
½
t was a surprise to Naomi when she found herself in charge of a young niece and a large house in a charming Dorsetshire village, and without much money to keep either of them. She was grateful for the willing help and advice of the villagers, but when they strted to plan her love life as well, she began to wonder if things had gone a little too far.

The blurb on the back of the book is not accurate. The village was not planning her love life, there was nasty, hurtful gossip and a predatory female that forced Naomi and Adrian into drastic measures to save themselves and others.
