An OK mystery that jumps between present and childhood told by Claire after she locks her husband and his mistress in his "Man cabin" in their back yard. Jumping back and forth between Claire's childhood and now unveils some disturbing happenings that tie in with present day. The "twist" was predictable. I thought the ending was a little abrupt and didn't much care for the British language (?) that seems spelled incorrectly? Lernt instead of learned, etc. Not interested in any other books by this author I went into this not reading the blurb, as I prefer going in blind. What would you do if you came home to see your husband with another woman? I am sure that has gone through many women’s minds giving the most gruesome answers but if it happened in reality would they actually act on those thoughts? Probably not. This book is told from both Grace the wife, and Dominic the husband's points of view with Grace also taking us back to when she was ten. As the book progresses it gets more intense and the plot twist was a shock. It was a short book that kept me gripped throughout. A wife (Grace Brown) comes home and finds her husband (Dominic) having sex with another woman (Kamilla) in the cabin at the bottom of their garden. Furious, she locks them in. But when will she let them out? This was a very riveting and captivating book that I totally enjoyed. I had a hard time putting it down, wondering what Grace would do next. At first, I felt sorry for her, but as the book progressed, it was obvious she was totally crazy and had some terrible secrets in her past. Another fun and exciting read by Daniel Hurst with some twists and surprises. no reviews | add a review
They'll do anything to get out. She'll do anything to keep them in. When happily married Grace comes home early one night and catches her husband, Dominic, with another woman in the cabin at the bottom of their garden, she is shocked, angry, and most of all, hell-bent on revenge. That's why she acts quickly, locking the pair in the cabin while she decides what she wants to do to them. While Dominic and his mistress desperately try to get free, Grace makes a plan on the outside, but it's a plan that is formed based on her previous experiences. That's because this might not be the first time Grace has done something like this... Who is the real villain? The cheating husband? Or the vengeful wife?
