Clean YA Paranormal Holiday Romance
In "Holiday Shifters," the spirit of Christmas takes a thrilling turn when Kayla, a London teen with a love for the season, finds herself trapped in an elevator with Connor, a boy whose green eyes hide a world of secrets. As they share stolen moments amidst the hustle and bustle of the festive season, they uncover a magical world right under their show more noses, where reindeer shifters guide Santa's sleigh and holiday wishes come true in the most unexpected ways.
Connor, burdened with the legacy of his family and the magical world he belongs to, must navigate his growing feelings for Kayla while upholding his duties in the hidden community of shifters. Meanwhile, Kayla, whose life was all about plans and practicality, finds herself drawn into a whirlwind of romance and enchantment she never believed possible.
Set against a backdrop of twinkling lights and snowy streets, "Holiday Shifters" is a tale of young love, ancient magic, and the timeless charm of Christmas. As New Year's Eve approaches, Kayla and Connor must decide how much they're willing to risk for a chance at a love that transcends worlds. Will the magic of the holidays bring them together, or will the secrets they keep tear them apart? This enchanting romance invites you to believe in the magic of Christmas and the power of love.

I think this was a cute and fast paced read, perfect for the YA category. The characters were likeable, and I loved the take on Santa and the magical time that is Christmas. Because it was a shorter book there were times that I wished there was a little more detail and time to watch the characters grow together, but I am still happy to have read the book. I'll recommend this to my younger cousin when it comes out.
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.I received this book from LibraryThing's Early Reviewers giveaway from the February 2024 batch, yes I know here we are in April and I finally got to it but I am a mood reader and already had so many other books I had started before I got to this one. I never really know how to rate a book, but to rate one that I was given for free makes me even more anxious, so I will try to be as honest as I can be.
I entered the giveaway because I have been slowly but surely getting into some rom coms and cozy books such as this.
Stranded with a shifter is definitely something different and out of the box of what I would normally read, but it was cute and adorable. It is not necessarily a 5 star read for me because it was pretty short and didn't really show more build a lot of character development. To be fair it really read like an old school fairy tale story, it was really fast paced and quick cozy romance (no spice, which I have no issues with) so it's not a book of great depth.
I recommend that if you like a really fast romance , that has no spice but is cute.
I enjoyed it for what it was a cute, short, magical romance. show less

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.Stranded with a Shifter is a quick read that can be finished in about an hour. It is the story of a reindeer shifter with the last name Prancer, who is determined to get into Santa's good graces after a previous family member had caused a scandal. On Christmas Eve, there is a malfunctioning elevator that almost causes another catastrophe, but inadvertently leads to a love connection.
Knowing that the book is about one of Santa's reindeer falling in love should warn the reader that this is not heavy literature. The story is cute and fluffy, ending in a sweet happily ever after.
I received this book for free, but all opinions are my own.

Okay, first and foremost, you have to remember that this is a YA book and that it’s meant to be a short story.
However, I felt it to be a little rushed. They met on Christmas Eve and were in love by New Year’s Eve? Her parents went and let her stay at a boys house she had just met?
I wish there had been more context and that it had been longer, but it is a very cute, fluffy, quick read for a younger teen.
