Star Wars: The High Republic: Path of Vengeance

Pretty good for this publishing initiative, due to the mercifully sparse time devoted to boring Jedi characters. Instead the focus is on the Jedi's antagonists--who are much more interesting and fully realized characters--and the divisions and conflicts among them.

Took me awhile to finish this one but worth it. I am really liking the high republic series and have been reading the middle grade, ya, and adult novels; trying to go in order but this and path of deceit are more prequel to the other books with the nihils. I really liked learning about the Evereni and like how the book concluded with Marda loosing some of her naivety but I still have questions that I hope I get from another book.

Marda was a blind follower to finally see the truth; so why did she still want to “free the force”? How did she return to hating the Jedi enough to explain that you don’t capture Jedi, you make them hurt? And how did the Evereni line continue to Marchion Ro?

Are we going to see Planet X again?

Are the Jedi show more going to investigate this nursery rhyme that actually mentions the nameless’s name? Are they going to learn/do anything about Planet X? Seems like one of them although he can’t remember what happened staved off the leveler’s attack; seriously just going to let that go?

What about the rods? They’re still around…are Jedi going to research them or seek them out? Marda is going to use the rod of seasons, will Yana use the other one? Will they be reunited?

I guess my main thing is how did marchion ro develop. show less
