Such an odd movie, incredibly well acted by all, beautifully photographed in a place I love, and all woven around the most implausible plot devices we could imagine. My overall reaction was "why?" and maybe someone will tell me some day. That it was Oscar nominated for screenplay is a travesty. If not for "Everything" I'd wish all its actors awards. ( )

2023 movie #49. 2022. A dim-witted man (Farrell) loses his only friend (Gleeson) in 1920's Ireland. The friend just doesn't want to be friends anymore. He's dull he says. Farrell's sister says "But he's always been dull!". Nominated for 9 Oscars including Picture and Director. ( )

A film starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson (Searchlight, 2022).

A man's best friend breaks up with him.

C+ (Okay).

The sense of humor is very good, but overall the movie is too dark for me. And the ending feels arbitrary and abrupt.
