Wow! The author really destroys doctors. She had a terrible medical history caused by endometriosis, and doctors wouldn't help her. She talks about being gaslit, patronized, and told to lose weight. None of the doctors would operate on her. She suffered for years.
I personally struggled with endometriosis for decades and had 7 surgeries (so far) for it. I had doctors tell me I was too young for a hysterectomy (I was 28). I was told I would change my mind about not wanting children. The author went through this as well.
Very well researched book with a very large bibliography.
Every medical student should read this book so they can learn how to behave more humanely with patients.
