Raw and honest, this is a page-turner of a memoir about a boy from a disastrous family, who makes his way on the street by hustling. It's easy to care about this frank and articulate kid, even as he makes his terrible choices. This is a thoughtful book, raising questions about sexual identity, the power of caring, and even Buddhist philosophy. Don't pick this one up unless you have time to read it to the end. ( )

This book is like a punch in the gut but I was unable to put it down until it was finished. I hope to read something else by Lee very soon. ( )
