I was living the most ordinary life until I found myself in the fae realm, imprisoned in an enchanted castle by four princes who turn into deadly beasts at night. As I grew to understand them and their world, I couldn't stop myself from falling for them.Tags

There be spoilers ahead -
Although I loved the first book in the series, I actually enjoyed the second book.
It picks up shortly after the cliffhanger of the second book. Having been rejected by her mate and thrown out from the Fae world and away from her princes, Roseline is trying to find a way back. With her father's help and her ability to connect once more to her princes, Roseline finds her way back into their world. The princes - Ez, Farron, Dayton - are not happy with what the Winter Prince had done, but before the fur can fly, there is war brewing on the horizon. The Autumn Realm is beginning to experience a freeze and accusations are being turned on Kel. Now, they need to find out who is behind the wintry weather and stop the show more war from happening.
There was a lot of character growth in the second book and I loved that this book focused on the Autumn Realm and its High Prince. This was so different from the castle. We got to see a different part of the realms. This was a nice change and learning about the Autumn Realm as well as the World Below was quite nice to see.
I want to take a moment to say that Kel needs to get his head out of his ass. There are moments where we think he has finally accepted Rose as his mate and there are moments I want to smash his face against a mirror. I am seriously not violent, but Kel brings out the rush of anger inside me.
There was a mention in the book that mates have the ability to communicate telepathically. This leads me to wonder if Caspian is also a mate to Rose. He can talk to her and he also seems to have some feelings for her. There is a moment in the book where he seems to be sulking when she does not give him able attention.
I am pretty sure all the High Princes are her mates and we will start seeing this as the books progress. Now I am not sure how many books this might contain, so I am merely speculating from my observations. We have already seen Farron and Kel have a connection to Rose. Farron, however, has sealed his mating bond with her while Kel continues to be such a stubborn asshole.
You have no idea how much I am looking forward to seeing the next book in the series. I am just bummed that we won't see it until December. show less

Ugh. The scraps of romance & good chemistry (only really with Farron and/or Dayton) in this book aren't worth the obvious foreshadowing, annoying war plot, sudden random violence or the rude winter prince.
Keldarion is just an asshole who rejects Rosalina way too much for someone who is supposedly her 'mate'. I prefer my MMC's to actually want their FMC, sue me!
Honestly this series feels like all four books (even though I've only read two could ve been one book, but were stretched out with lots of filler thrown in to make it a series. Reading this feels like a bunch of meetings I don't want to be in that could've been emails.
It's so obvious where this story is going, that she's mated to all 4 princes & the prince of thorns. That she's show more the new queen of castletree & will live happily ever after with 5 sexy men once they all start being honest about their feelings. Why can't I just enjoy the romance of it all when this dreadfully slow plot only wants me to suffer? show less

These books are great. The characters are multi-faceted and I cannot wait to read the next!
