Un-Brella is such a cool book. There is not a single line of text. The illustrations are so vivid, layered and tell the story perfectly. A little girl has a magical umbrella that brings sun on a snowy day and snow when her yard is green and sunny. I think this picture book is perfect for students learning to read. They can make up their own stories based off of the illustrations and knowledge about weather.
This wordless picture book is trippy in a fun, child-appropriate way. A little girl flits around making it whatever season she wants with repeated simple changes of clothing. Daisies are a theme throughout, as are snowflakes. The art looks computer-generated to me; its angularity and bright colors work in the story's favor, creating a world in which this bizarre premise is convincing.
A wordless picture book needs telling, memorable and vibrant illustrations. Un-brella is has all of these things. It is fun, interactive, happy and contains great artwork. Both children and adults could spend time on each page admiring the detail, patterns and texture. The character's hair has a pattern, the colors are vibrant, the pages are busy with flowers, raindrops, snow or snowflakes. The pages of this book remind me of a quilt with detailed patchwork. I enjoyed it!
Who wouldn't want to wear their bathing suit in the snow! What a very cute imaginative story. I like how the cat is in the window while she is going outside as if he is like no no no don't go out! It was a great story. I love the art especially how the shapes were so simplistic with patterns and textures. The trees were my favorite!
This has to be one of the CUTEST books I have seen in a long time! The pictures tell the whole story and they are just darling.
This is a cute wordless story about a girl who can effect the weather with her "un-brella"—for instance, she begins by dressing up for the beach when it is clearly snowing outside but, with her un-brella, she can make it beautiful, warm and sunny out. The illustrations resemble cut paper and are bright and fun. An enjoyable book.
I love love love this book. Rarely does a wordless book get me this excited, but the playful images and this young girl's imagination are so exciting. What a perfect book for any age (yes even seniors will love this one!!)
