1233. King William IV, by Philip Ziegler (10 Aug 1973) This is a superb biography of the British sovereign who preceded Queen Victoria. He reigned from June 26, 1830, till his death on June 20, 1837, and while he was of little worth this biography is as sympathetic as possible. The account of the English parliamentary doings during this period of the Great Reform Bill of 1832 is high in interest and is excellently done. Anyone 'doing' biographies of all English sovereigns, as I am haphazardly doing, has a treat when doing William IV.
