Car Bob was brought into this family when the children were young and has been with them ever since. Bob was strong, fun, trustworthy, and a big part of this families memories. It was the transportation to many big events and core memories for them. It even brought babies home from the hospital. At the end of this story the sadness of needing a larger car is shown and the devastation about getting rid of Bob. I think that this is a great book for primary students who may being dealing with change in their lives or might be able to relate to having something that special in their lives. I would love to have this as an option for students to use as a resource in the classroom. This book is a great memoir from the perspective of a child to their car before they sell it for a new one. Memories of road trips and Native American celebrations bring a specific but universal feeling for fond memories. I would use to model writing about family memories, personification, and letter writing(1-3rd). no reviews | add a review
