I liked the strange twist in the story-telling of LaPlante.
Cold Heart is a good detective story with a real-life heroine with her own share of faults and troubles. While Entwined is a richly imagined suspense story based on the horrors of the holocaust and the fate of two imaginary survivors. I liked the sub-plots and the interwoven small character stories which tell a lot about human nature. ( )
