This kind of book almost per definition makes questionable choices, but this is a particularily mixed bag. It includes examples of 'what were they thinking' (Davy Crockett), ideas which seemed good at the time (M60A2), questionable use of resources (Yamato), mechanical defects (a host of Japanese WW2 small arms) and general technological overreaching. It attempts to be revisionist, by including things like the AK47, the Tiger I or the bazooka.

All of this makes it difficult to see what a 'bad' weapon is supposed to be, according to this book. Worse, it gives very little information and is not particularily entertaining. OK if you can get it cheap. ( )
