Lucas Davenport is a rather unconventional police lieutenant in the Minneapolis police force. A serial killer calling himself maddog (Rules of Prey) is raping and murdering women. Lucas is put on the case to figure out who the killer is. He also sleeps around, designs video games and has a nun for a good friend. He's not afraid to bend the rules to see justice done.
A really good thriller. I'm enjoying all three of the stories. Definitely more hard boiled than soft, but there are still light hearted moments. You have the opportunity to see the situation from both the killer's perspective and Lucas' so that adds to the tension. I'd give this to someone who doesn't mind if their hero has a little bit of villain in him.
