Description
With Boyd convalescing at home after his operation, and DS Minter preparing for his Inspector's exam, CID Hastings is woefully under-manned. So, when the body of a young man is found hanging from a tree - an apparent suicide, and a house is burned down killing a wheelchair-bound old woman, it's down to DC Okeke to handle the two cases. However, as she digs into both it soon becomes apparent that they are connected to a third death, the eldest resident of an old people's home.
