This was a great read, even the second time around. I rarely reread books, but sometimes I forget that I've read a book. (You have no idea how helpful GR has been for me!) So I end up reading it again. This was a funny, sweet book, with none of the over-the-top violence between the man and woman that Lindsey puts in some of her books.
Typical Lindsey historical. Overblown emotional yarn with great characters. Quick read.
Readable romance but it seems to have been written by the numbers, almost as if the author had contracted to write it and just kept a checklist although she wasn't really interested in the outcome. It wouldn't make me want to hunt up any more of her books.
I enjoy Johanna Lindsay's approach to historical romances where the story and character development is more important than graphic love scenes. This is the third in the Sherring Cross trilogy. The last third of the book I found tragged. The uncles took up too much space for my liking. But it came together in the last 2 chapters.
I was a little disappointed by this one. The characters seemed rather lackluster compared to other books by the author.
I didn't really care for this book. I normally love her books... but just didn't get into this one. I gave 2 stars.

Johanna Lindsey was one of the world's most successful romance authors. She has written over 30 books, of which 54 million copies are in print and have been translated into 12 languages. Lindsey was born with the name Johanna Helen Howard on March 10, 1952. As a young wife and mother, Lindsey became a great fan of romance novels and wrote her show more first book, Captive Bride in 1977, on a whim when she was 25. To the young author's great surprise, it made The New York Times Bestsellers list. Lindsey had found a romance formula that worked. Take any setting past or present, introduce a rascally rakish male and a romantic heroine, let their hearts ignite with passion, lust, and love. Lindsey has something of a cult following, following such titles as "Heart of Thunder", "Hearts Aflame", "A Heart So Wild", and ''Keeper of the Heart". She has loyal fans reading "Glorious Angel" and "Gentle Rogue" and legions of devotees buying her Malory family series. In 2014 her title, Stormy Persuasion, made The New York Times Best Seller List Johanna Lindsey passed away on October 27, 2019 at the age of 67. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
