My mom recommended this book to me, since she's discovered that she's an introvert quite recently. I spend a lot of time on the internet, so I've known for quite some time that I'm an introvert and wasn't quite sure if I'd learn anything from it that I didn't already know.

I did learn something though, something that has literally never occured to me before: that spending time at the gym can be an introvert thing. Because it requires you to focus on the same thing for long periods of time and it isn't the most social activity. I don't go to the gym, but I do run a lot and it's never before occured to me that I might enjoy that because it's an introvert activity. It makes sense though, since I like running because it clears my head and gives me time to myself.

Other things I didn't agree with. What, introvert all dress in modest colors as to not draw attention to themselves? Yeah, that's not really me. Obv that is just an example but I think sometimes the book draws a bit too many parallells to what is clearly other traits, and it made me feel way more extroverted than I'd ever done before.

However, it did bring up some good points and thanks to it I managed to mention being an introvert on a job interview I had today, where I explained that for me it's important that I get time for myself where I can just focus on my work. I don't think I would have put it that way if I hadn't read the book and the interviewer seemed interested in the answer, so I think it's good.

If you don't know anything about introversion this is probably a good way for some insights, but don't take everything it says to heart. ( )

Short. I recommend [b:Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking|8520610|Quiet The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking|Susan Cain|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1328562861s/8520610.jpg|13387396] rather than this unless you are very short of time or want a book that doesn't include so much American stuff as Quiet! does.
